  • Contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals

At Repsol, we support the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and we are certain that energy companies can play a key role in making the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) a reality.

In order to focus our efforts on the goals where we can make the most significant contribution, we have prioritized the SDGs that are most relevant to our Company and our stakeholders: firstly SDG7 (Affordable and clean energy), SDG8 (Decent work and economic growth), and SDG13 (Climate action), followed by SDG6 (Clean water and sanitation), SDG9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure), and SDG12 (Responsible consumption and production). We collaborate with other entities, as per SDG17 (Partnerships to achieve the goals).

Working towards continuous improvement

We apply the best environmental management technology available based on the legal requirements in force wherever we operate, as well as the established internal regulations and international standards.
We produced our own Health, Safety, and Environment Policy (PDF | 29 KB) and comply with all international standards. Moreover, we can ensure proper resource management through our environmental management internal regulations and the Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessments we perform.

Promoting efficiency

Our work centers feature a management system, and most of them are certified according to the UNE-EN ISO 14001:2004 standard and the new 2015 version. This standard is aimed at reducing and managing environmental risks. Furthermore, our refining and chemicals operating centers already boast the ISO 14001:2015.
We encourage our partners to implement health, safety, and environment management standards. Our relationship with our partners is established through a Joint Operating Agreement that includes environmental clauses.
